About Morgan Sebode

Bilingual humanistic counsellor, qualified practitioner and BACP member.

I am Morgan Sebode, a qualified humanistic counsellor and registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), membership number 387435. After several years of practice in the United Kingdom, I am now based in Brittany, France, with offices in Rennes (Place Saint-Germain) and Vannes (Rue Jean Baptiste Corot), while continuing to support English-speaking clients online.

My training in humanistic counselling and my clinical experience have allowed me to develop a practice that is attentive and adapted to each individual. I work primarily with adults, adolescents, neurodivergent individuals and couples. Every person who comes to see me is unique -- I build a therapeutic relationship with them grounded in listening, trust and respect.

As a bilingual practitioner (English and French), I offer sessions in both languages. This has allowed me to support British expatriates living in France, French clients who prefer to express themselves in English, and online clients from the UK and beyond. Therapy is above all an encounter -- I make sure that language is never an obstacle to that encounter.

My commitment is to create a therapeutic space that is safe, warm and free from judgement, where you can express yourself freely and explore what concerns you at your own pace. I deeply believe that every person holds within them the resources to grow and feel better -- my role is to support that process, not to direct it.

My therapeutic approach

I integrate three humanistic approaches, chosen for their complementarity and effectiveness in supporting the whole person.

Person-Centred Therapy

Founded by Carl Rogers in the 1950s, person-centred therapy is built on three core conditions: empathy, genuineness (congruence) and unconditional positive regard. In this non-directive framework, you remain the expert of your own life -- I provide the conditions for your natural growth process to unfold.

Transactional Analysis

Transactional Analysis (TA) helps us understand ego states (Parent, Adult, Child), relational dynamics and repeated behavioural patterns. It offers an accessible framework to identify "life scripts" -- decisions made in childhood that influence our behaviour in adulthood -- and opens the way to new choices.

Gestalt

Gestalt therapy emphasises present-moment awareness, immediate experience and personal responsibility. It explores how we relate to our environment -- through the body, emotions, thoughts and actions -- and encourages a more authentic presence with ourselves and others.
